Pre Prologue

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, Lend me your ears and biking interest! It is now T-5 until I begin my first post USAF active duty career adventure. On Sunday, 4 June 2006, I set off for my first Bike Across America trip with my best friend, Larry Fariss. We've both been training for 3-4 months and have been organizing this trip for over a year.

Separately, we will fly to San Francisco, CA and meet up with the Bike Across America group (~25) and begin our adventure on Sunday morning. We leave from the Holiday Inn Express near the San Francisco Airport and bike about 20 miles to the Pacific to dip our rear wheel in the ocean. Then it is east for about 3,800 more miles until we hit the Atlantic in Portmouth, NH.

I'll do my best to keep you abreast of our fun, challenges and more fun (did I mention fun?!).

Hope you get a little vicarious pleasure out of this once in a lifetime trip.

Come along with us and enjoy drafting behind a 6 foot 3 inch, 215 pound Clydsdale named Steve King.
